Now that I’m working again, I’ve started checking out the blogs and websites of some favorite artists. To see what everyone’s been up to while I was busy not doing arty things.
It will probably take me a bunch of posts to get around to all people I admire. Here’s two to get started:
I love the luminous quality of Angeline-Marie’s work. She’s very influenced by the natural world, and her pieces always seem to catch a living moment, where nature is busy at work. Visit her blog here: http://angeline-marie.blogspot.com/
Elise is a Portland artist. She exhibits at the Chase Young Gallery in Boston, and here in Portland at Butters. Her web site has great process photos of her encaustic monotype workshops. I love her abstract work, which is spare and color-rich, often exploring spatial relationships. Check out her work here: http://www.elisewagner.com/paintings_encaustic.html
If I’ve missed other wonderful artists during my lonely perambulations around the web as I search for kindred spirits, please write and say hello, either here or on Facebook.
